The “Alexandru and Aristia Aman” County Library is one of Craiova’s representative cultural institutions, with a history rooted in its founders’ desire to dedicate books, art, and knowledge to the community. Today, the library preserves this legacy and continues it through modern services for reading, documentation, education, and access to cultural resources.

To become a user of the "Alexandru and Aristia Aman" County Library:

  1. Go to the library (main branch or subsidiary).
  2. Required documents:
    • For consulting documents in the Reading Room: Identity card
    • For home borrowing (main branch and subsidiaries): Identity card, permanent residence in Craiova, employment certificate / pension coupon)
    • For minors, an identity document and an employment certificate/pension coupon of one of the parents/grandparents are required.
  3. You will receive a valid 5-year permit (card).

At the "Alexandru and Aristia Aman" County Library, you can borrow a maximum of 4 documents for home use.

At the "Alexandru and Aristia Aman" County Library, the standard loan period is 14 days.

You can request an extension only once, before expiration, for another 14 days.

  • State that you wish to get involved as a volunteer.
  • How you can get involved: by participating in interactive workshops organized by the library and partners where volunteers are already present.
  • Fill out the volunteer form or a collaboration agreement with the library.
  • Together with the coordinator, you will establish what activities you will carry out, when, for how long, and during what hours.
  • Through volunteering, you will gain experience, get to know the library team, and contribute to community development.

  • Free English language course (intermediate level B1/B2) for adults – organized from September 17 to November 7, 2025.
