The „Alexandru și Aristia Aman” County Library, through the General Depository, Reading Rooms and the Media Library, American Corner Craiova and General Depository sections, continues the series of free activities held every summer under the Fun in Summer program.
The activities proposed for July and August will take place physically at the county library headquarters (in the halls of the „Aman” building) and are addressed to children aged between 6 and 18.
Registrations take place from June 17-26, 2026, during the time interval 08:15-15:30, subject to available places:

Movie Club (July – August 2026) will take place weekly, every Monday, in the time interval 11:30-13:00. The first meeting will take place on July 6. During the meetings, films from the county library’s collection, Media Library section, will be screened. The number of available places is 20. The workshop is supported by volunteer students of the „Alexandru și Aristia Aman” County Library.
English Club (July 2 – 30, 2026) will take place every Tuesday and Thursday, in the time interval 10:00-11:00. The first meeting will take place on July 7. Children aged between 7 and 9 are expected to register. The number of available places for this workshop is 15. During the meetings, participants will acquire English language knowledge. The course is supported by volunteer students from the Faculty of Letters within the University of Craiova.
Le Club de Francais (July 1 – 31, 2026) will take place every Wednesday, in the time interval 10:00-11:00. The first meeting will take place on July 1. Children aged between 7 and 9 are expected to register. The number of available places for this workshop is 15. During the meetings, participants will acquire French language knowledge. The course is supported by volunteer students from the Faculty of Letters within the University of Craiova.
Games Day (July – August 2026) will take place weekly, every Wednesday, starting at 10:00. The first meeting will take place on July 1. We propose an interesting collection of educational and recreational games, such as: chess, puzzles, Monopoly, Dixit, or Cluedo. The number of available places is 20. The workshop is supported by volunteer students of the „Alexandru și Aristia Aman” County Library.
Teen Lab (July 6 – August 6, 2026) will take place every Thursday, in the time interval 11:30-13:00. The first meeting will take place on July 6. Children aged between 12 and 15 are expected to register. The number of available places for this workshop is 15. During the meetings, participants will acquire knowledge about entrepreneurship, Social Media, Canva, etc. The workshop is carried out in partnership with the Explorator Association and supported by international Erasmus+ volunteers from the ANDCTR, Explorator Association, and ANTER. The workshop will be conducted in English.
Emotion Detectives (July 16 – August 13, 2026) will take place every Thursday, in the time interval 11:00-12:00. The first meeting will take place on July 16. Children aged 7 and 8 are expected to register. The number of available places for this workshop is 15. During these meetings, the little ones will learn through games and creative activities to recognize and manage their own states, as well as to understand the emotions of those around them. The workshop will be supported by librarian Andreea Enache, from the „Alexandru și Aristia Aman” County Library.
Spanish Classes (July 3 – 31, 2026) will take place every Friday, in the time interval 10:00-12:00. The first meeting will take place on July 3. Children aged between 11 and 13 are expected to register. The number of available places for this workshop is 20. During the meetings, participants will acquire Spanish language knowledge. The course is supported by volunteer students from the Faculty of Letters within the University of Craiova.
Creative Academy workshops will take place from August 3-7 for children aged 10-12 and from August 10-14 for children aged 12-14. During the two workshops, participants will explore the fascinating world of artificial intelligence, expressing their creativity in new and inspiring ways, with the help of 4 modules: creative writing, digital painting, musical composition, and animation and visual arts. Creative Academy will conclude with a digital exhibition of participants’ works. The workshops will be supported by librarians Mădălina Băileșteanu and Denisa Florescu, from the „Alexandru și Aristia Aman” County Library.
Digital Illustrator workshop will take place on July 20, in the time interval 11:00-13:00, addressed to students aged 11-13. During the workshop, participants will learn basic drawing and digital illustration techniques, and will develop their digital art and IT tool usage skills. The workshop is carried out in partnership with Logiscool Craiova.
